Super Secret Recipes

I like to share recipes. I like to search magazines and cookbooks (gosh, I have a ridiculous number of cookbooks) for dishes that are interesting or different or easy or thematic to a region or holiday. I love to try new things and experiment. I love to pretend that I'm on a TV cooking show and challenge myself to come up with a meal based on what is in my fridge or pantry or repurpose leftovers. I like to tell people how simple it is to cook at home. (I know, I know...I'm a broken record.) And, then show them via some recipes that I've tested.

However, there are a few recipes that I hold as Super Secret Recipes. My sangria (which has undergone many formulations in the past 10 years to finally be the delight it is now.), Grandma Mary's Drunken Rum Cake (mainly because she only shared it with me after much begging and pleading and c'mon,  it's my dearly departed, Grandma's recipe), and the one for "Kick-Ass Brownies" (sanitized to "Divinely Sinful Brownies" when I take them to my children's school.) I've been making them for about 6 years or so and they are always a big hit. In the back of my mind, I think that these brownies might be the key to financial independence one day, and so it is under lock and key, never to be shared.

Do you have any Super Secret Recipes? Family Heirlooms that will never be shared? Dishes that you've personally developed and tweaked over a long period of time to mold them into the delight they are today?

Happy Cooking!
